INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOGRAPHY & PHOTOSHOP FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS

Knowledge of basic photography skills creates a strong foundation upon which future skills can develop. Unfortunately, many digital photographers begin taking pictures without an understanding of how to achieve the results they want. Simply put, to become a better photographer you need to understand the basics of photography. This is true for the photographic beginner and the aspiring pro. Join wildlife photographer Chris Gamel as he explains the tips and techniques of photography, with an emphasis on keeping things simple and relevant.
With the transition to digital, photographers are spending more time in front of the computer perfecting their images. We will explore the exciting world of Photoshop, from the perspective of the photographer. Designed for the beginning Photoshop user, Photoshop for Photographers: Level 1 provides a thorough introduction to the tools and techniques of Photoshop with an emphasis on understanding the environment and optimizing digital images.
Equipment Needs for Participants:
Each participant is expected to provide his/her own camera equipment (which should be brought to class). I recommend that participants use a digital SLR camera, though any digital camera with the option of manual controls will work. Any lenses already owned will work fine. The class will be taught with the understanding that most participants do not own specialty equipment, rather, we will focus on how the equipment each participant already owns can be used to create pictures. If participants find they are interested in continuing to explore the world of photography, they will leave the class with information concerning the type of equipment that will allow them to expand their photographic endeavors in the future.

REFUND POLICY: *Cancellations received at least 10 calendar days before the start date of the class shall receive 100% refund.
*Cancellations received at least 7 calendar days before the start date of the class shall receive 50% refund.
*Cancellations received fewer than 7 days before the class shall not be credited or refunded.
